Endodontics

Our veterinary dentistry specialists perform Root Canal procedures as part of our extensive Dentistry Services. A root canal is a dental surgery where the pulp of the tooth is cleaned out, the space is disinfected and then filled to prevent pain and infection. The pulp is the fleshy, vascular and sensitive inner portion of the tooth and if exposed, can cause severe pain to your pet. Teeth may require a root canal if they have been fractured or affected by severe cavities. Root canal therapy is superior to extraction in almost all cases. Root canal therapy of functional teeth is much less painful than extractions. Please ask our veterinary dentistry staff about root canal therapy and if it may be right for your pet.
