Dr. Ellen Choi joined VCA as an Associate Veterinarian in August 2025. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at Kansas State University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Choi grew up in Yorba Linda, California. Her passion for veterinary medicine is rooted in the relationships she builds—with both pets and the people who love them. She finds it incredibly rewarding to watch a puppy grow into a senior companion or help a sick cat return to their playful self. She especially enjoys preventive care, feline medicine, and supporting pets through their senior years with comfort and dignity.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Choi loves traveling with her husband and two children. At home, she has two beloved cats—Miranda, a gray tabby, and Candy, a white short-haired cat with striking blue and green eyes.
Dr. Choi is committed to treating every pet as if they were her own and creating a space where clients feel heard, supported, and cared for.
