Dr. Garza is originally from Arcadia, California. She grew up in the sunny Los Angeles area. She always knew she wanted to work with animals. Dr. Garza went to Cornell University for her college years, earning degrees in biology and animal science. During college, she was fascinated by wildlife medicine. Dr. Garza learned and participated in wildlife rehabilitation of the native California wildlife, as well as spent a semester abroad in the African plains learning about wildlife management. She spent a few years working as a surgical technician at another VCA hospital before going to veterinary school. Dr. Garza attended Washington State University and graduated in 2018. She dabbled in emergency medicine, but has been a general practitioner in the east valley.
Dr. Garza loves making road trips, traveling, and many outdoor activities, which makes Arizona an ideal place for her. She has a calico cat named Calliope, who is her only princess pet at home. She enjoys and dabbles in music and also enjoys playing games in her spare time. Dr. Garza is very close to her culture and speaks Spanish fluently.
Her areas of interest are small animal ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, and exotics.
