Deana

Veterinary Assistant

Deana is a veterinary assistant at VCA North Rockville Animal Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, where she supports the veterinary team in providing compassionate care for pets and the families who love them. She believes every patient deserves patience, understanding, and a voice during their veterinary visit, and she works closely with both doctors and clients to help ensure pets feel safe and supported throughout their care.

Deana began her career at the hospital as a client service representative in 2022. After quickly discovering her passion for hands-on patient care, she cross-trained and became a veterinary assistant just six months later. Her journey reflects her dedication to veterinary medicine and her commitment to continuing to grow in the field.

“I’ve always believed pets are an extension of the family. They deserve patience, respect, and someone willing to advocate for them when they cannot speak for themselves.”

Deana is Fear Free Certified and anesthesia and surgery certified, allowing her to support a wide range of procedures and patient needs within the hospital. She also has a special interest in exotic animal care and enjoys expanding her knowledge in this area as the hospital continues to grow its services for a wider range of pets.

She values that every day in veterinary medicine brings new opportunities to learn. Whether assisting with procedures, helping calm nervous patients, or supporting clients through their pet’s care plan, Deana appreciates the variety and meaningful impact her work provides.

“My goal is to keep learning and improving so I can continue helping pets and the people who care for them.”

Deana grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and values being able to serve pets and families within the same community she calls home. As a bilingual team member who speaks both Spanish and English, she also enjoys helping ensure more families feel comfortable communicating about their pet’s care.

At VCA North Rockville Animal Hospital in Rockville, MD, those connections help her create a welcoming and supportive experience where pets and their families feel understood, respected, and cared for.
