As our purchaser, Justin is responsible for ensuring that the hospital and medical teams have the appropriate supplies and equipment needed to practice the high-quality medicine they consistently deliver to patients' day in and day out.
Originally from Michigan, Justin moved to Oregon in 2009 and started working for VCA in 2017 as an administrative assistant. With a degree in Anthrozoology from the University of Michigan, he has a good working knowledge of both veterinary medicine and the equipment/supplies needed to sustain our mission. Using his solid communication skills and juggling time management and vendors like a pro, Justin soon grew into the role of purchaser.
In one fell swoop, Justin orders and maintains controlled drugs in accordance with VCA, DEA and Oregon Vet Board regulations, while also monitoring expired products and communicating with doctors and teams regarding drug recalls and backordered medications. With his cheerful attitude, Justin maintains our inventory system seamlessly, which is no small feat. Maintaining stellar relationships is also part of his expertise as he works with a wide array of vendors, large and small, as well as our large staff of doctors, technicians and associates to keep all links in our hospital chain connected.
We strive diligently to offer quality care to clients and their pets at every step of a pet's health journey. Justin shows up with efficiency and a willingness to support his team in any way he can, to help deliver the hospitals strategic goals—and for that we are grateful.
When not at the hospital, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife, dog and two cats. He also spends time playing games of both the digital and tabletop variety.
