Amanda Smith

Emergency Veterinarian

Dr. Smith's passion for veterinary medicine began early, volunteering at a veterinary clinic in her rural Georgia hometown. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Veterinary Technology before working as a Registered Veterinary Technician for two years. She then pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia, graduating in 2013.

Following vet school, Dr. Smith completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery with Carolina Veterinary Specialists. After several years in general small animal practice, she discovered her true passion for emergency medicine.

At home, Dr. Smith shares her life with three dogs (Riker, Mr. Sulu, and Penny), two cats (Dax and Henry), and a Betta fish named Kirby. In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature, practicing yoga, creating ceramics, playing board games, and spending quality time with her dogs.
