Rachael grew up in North Central Pennsylvania, where goats, dogs and cats were a constant part of childhood. These companions instilled a love of animals in Rachael. Traveling to Jackson to work seasonally after college, she decided to make the valley her permanent home. Inspired by working with sled dogs for several winters, Rachael is pursuing veterinary medicine and working to earn her Veterinary Technician Associate's degree. 

Rachael enjoys hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing with her husband.
