Dr. Saling has always had a strong love for animals since he can remember. He would spend countless hours at The First Step preschool in Santa Monica searching for caterpillars in the fennel and raising them through metamorphosis until hatching and releasing them as butterflies. He also had several birthday parties hosted by The Reptile Family who would teach him and his friends about how to care for and handle exotic animals.
Fueled by these experiences during early childhood, Dr. Saling's passion for small animal veterinary medicine emerged in high school when he began volunteering at his local clinic. He then earned his bachelor's degree in animal science at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. As he gained more and more experience, he decided to apply to veterinary school and earned his DVM from St. George's University in 2024 after completing his clinical year at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Saling joined on with VCA Venture as his first job following graduation and is excited to finally put all of his hard work and years of studying into clinical practice. He particularly enjoys wound management and surgery.
Dr. Saling currently resides in Santa Monica and in his free time he likes to go to concerts with his friends. He also enjoys going to the beach, hiking, playing disc golf and other outdoor physical activities.
