Sarah

Veterinary Assistant

Sarah is a veterinary assistant at VCA White Rose Animal Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, where she supports the team in providing thoughtful, personalized care for pets and the families who love them. Her connection to the hospital began long before her career in veterinary medicine, as her own family brought their pets to White Rose when she was growing up. That early experience shaped her passion for animal care and ultimately led her back to the hospital as part of the team.

Sarah began her journey in veterinary medicine as a receptionist in 2017 before transitioning into emergency medicine in 2020, where she developed her technical skills as a veterinary assistant. Working in a fast-paced emergency setting strengthened her ability to think quickly, adapt, and support pets through critical moments. Today, she brings that experience into a more relationship-focused environment, where she values the opportunity to slow down, connect, and build trust with both pets and clients.

“I believe every pet deserves to be treated like family, and I try to make each visit as comfortable as possible so it is not a stressful experience.”

Sarah has a strong interest in surgery, anesthesia, radiology, and ultrasound, with a growing focus on cardiology. She is currently continuing her education in cardiac sonography and is passionate about expanding her knowledge in imaging and diagnostics. Her long-term goal is to become certified in veterinary sonography, allowing her to bring advanced imaging skills back into veterinary medicine.

For clients, Sarah’s background means both skill and understanding. She takes time to educate pet owners about their pet’s health, helping them feel more informed and confident in the care their pet receives. Her experience in emergency medicine, combined with her calm and compassionate approach, allows her to support both routine visits and more complex situations with care and clarity.

“I enjoy educating clients about their pet’s health and building relationships with both pets and their families. That connection is what makes this work so rewarding.”

At VCA White Rose Animal Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, Sarah is proud to care for pets in the same community where her passion for veterinary medicine first began. Being part of a hospital that has been part of her own story makes her role especially meaningful, and she is committed to helping every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
