Dr. Funk was born and raised on the little island of Barbados in the Caribbean. She wanted to be a veterinarian from the time she could talk and began shadowing at a vet clinic from the age of 14, gaining experience around both small and large animals. Dr. Funk loved small animal medicine and equine medicine throughout her experience. She attended boarding school in Canada for her last two years of high school, then attended Nova South Eastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she obtained a degree in Biology and minor in Psychology in 2018. She then attended veterinary school in the Cayman Islands at St. Matthews School of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her clinical year at Washington State University in 2022. Dr. Funk always knew she wanted to move to Miami and work, so this is truly a dream come true. Dr. Funk lives here now with her boyfriend (Lucas) and their two dogs, Winnie and Apollo.
