Chelsie Holmes is a veterinary assistant at VCA Animal Care Associates in Colonial Heights, VA, where she supports the veterinary and client care teams in providing attentive and compassionate care for every patient who visits the hospital. Chelsie has been part of the hospital team since 2013, first joining as a kennel assistant before stepping into her role as a veterinary assistant in 2017.
Over the years, Chelsie has developed a deep connection to the hospital and the pets and families it serves. She especially enjoys supporting the surgical team and learning more about the procedures that help pets recover and return to their normal lives. Being part of that process and helping ensure patients feel calm and cared for before and after their procedures is one of the most rewarding parts of her role.
“I love being able to help care for pets throughout their visit and knowing I’m part of a team that works together to support them.”
Chelsie is known among the team for her attentiveness to patients and her ability to capture memorable photos of pets for their medical charts, helping create a personal connection for clients as their pets’ stories are documented over time. Those small moments often capture a pet’s personality and become meaningful memories for the families who love them.
Outside of the hospital, Chelsie enjoys hiking and spending time with her pets. Those experiences nurture her appreciation for animals, along with a sense of curiosity and adventure that reflects the same care and enthusiasm she brings to supporting patients during their visits.
“Working with animals every day and helping them feel comfortable is what makes veterinary medicine so rewarding for me.”
At VCA Animal Care Associates in Colonial Heights, VA, Chelsie is proud to support a team that works together to provide thoughtful care for pets and a welcoming experience for the people who trust the hospital with their care.
