Sam Stephens is a veterinary assistant at VCA Animal Care Associates in Colonial Heights, VA, where she supports the veterinary and client care teams in providing compassionate care for every patient who visits the hospital. Since joining the team in 2021, Sam has enjoyed turning her lifelong love of animals into a career focused on helping pets feel safe and comfortable during their visits.
In her role, Sam assists the medical team with patient care and helps support the daily flow of the hospital. She enjoys working closely with pets and their families and takes pride in helping create a calm, welcoming experience for both patients and clients.
“I love being able to help animals feel safe and cared for while they’re at the hospital. Knowing I can make their visit a little easier is the most rewarding part of my day.”
Sam has a special appreciation for reptiles and other unique pets and enjoys learning about the many different species that come through the hospital. Her interest in caring for a wide variety of animals helps her bring patience and attentiveness to every patient she supports.
Outside of the hospital, Sam enjoys exploring her many interests and learning about the world around her. That natural curiosity carries into her work with animals, where she enjoys understanding how different pets behave, communicate, and experience their environment.
