Pet Boarding

VCA Bakersfield Animal Hospital is staffed with a loving and passionate group of veterinary care specialists dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for your dog when you are away. Our hospital provides both overnight and day boarding facilities for those times when your pets need a home away from home.

Our boarding facilities are equipped with all the essentials for your animal companion, including climate controlled rooms, large play areas, and a separate area exclusively for cats. We also offer standard and luxury sized indoor facilities so your pet is assured to experience the level of comfort that perfectly suits his or her needs. As a part of our commitment to the care of your pet, our veterinarians and staff are available 24 hours a day giving you the peace of mind you need when you're away.

Pick-up and drop-off hours are 7:00 am to 10:00 pm seven days a week.

Required Vaccines

Dogs:
All vaccines must be current prior to reservation or grooming appointment. We no longer offer booster vaccines during a boarding stay or grooming appointments. Proof is required to book a reservation or appointment.

• DAPP (distemper and parvovirus)
• Rabies
• Leptospirosis
• Bordetella
• Canine influenza (H3N8 & H3N2 strains of CIV) 

Cats:

• FVRCP (distemper)
• Rabies

Any vaccinations or boosters your pet may need should be completed 7 days prior to staying with us.

To keep your pet's stay even more special, we offer a variety of additional items at and extra cost to customize their experience. These extra items include:

• Frozen Kongs: Kong toy filled with peanut butter and frozen for a tasty, long-lasting treat.
• Pup-Cups: A delicious, sugar-free whipped cream treat served in a cup.
