Joanne Castro is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has been with VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital since 2008. She earned her degree in Veterinary Technology at Joliet Junior College in 2002. As a child, she realized that she loved animals and started volunteering at PAWS Chicago when she was 16. Joanne especially enjoys working with cats and their owners. She designed two cat exam rooms to help the client and pet feel at ease, and ultimately less stressful during their visit. Joanne is currently preparing to become cat friendly certified through the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Joanne has a strong understanding of diabetes management and weight management in cats and likes to work with cat owners on these issues. When Joanne is not busy at home with her twin boys, she enjoys cat grooming and the company of her tortie cat.
