From it’s beginnings as a dairy practice in the 1940s, VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital has been serving rural Warren County for almost 80 years. In 1964, Dr. Merritt Wooding purchased the practice and added horses, dogs, and cats to its patient load. In 1984, he hired Dr. Ken Leal, who eventually became his partner. The practice increased in size and was drawing clients from Eastern PA, northern NJ and from as far away as New York City.
Currently, we have five veterinarians on staff and take care of pet companion animals—dogs, cats, and exotics- including rabbits, ferrets, rodents, reptiles and birds. We strive to practice excellent medicine and surgery, utilizing bloodwork, radiography, ultrasound, full dentistry and surgical suites, and enjoy collaborating to provide your pets with state-of-the-art care while maintaining our small-town mindset.
As a long-standing practice, we have had generations of families as our clients, and we’ve had the privilege of caring for pets as young puppies and kittens throughout their lifetime. We treasure the relationships we have developed and are honored to serve our community.
The vast knowledge of our experienced and talented team of doctors, combined with the latest technological advancements and treatments, makes VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital the best choice for the pets in your family!
