Dr. Jared Cohen grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana 2004, followed by Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Illinois 2009. Following graduation, Dr. Cohen completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
After spending a year in the Pacific Northwest for internship and three years in Rhode Island in a general practice, Dr. Cohen moved back to the Chicago suburbs with his wife (also a native of the Chicago area) and started working at Blum Animal Hospital in 2013. Dr. Cohen is a member of AVMA, ISVMA, and CVMA and a Fear Free certified veterinarian.

Dr. Cohen and his wife, Anne, have a daughter, son, two dogs, two cats, and a rabbit. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially taking an active interest in his children's' extracurricular activities (which currently include ice skating, swimming, soccer). Dr. Cohen would like to take more time biking, cooking, playing tennis and basketball, and reading.
