Emily O'Reilly
Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Emily O'Reilly grew up west of Chicago in Geneva, Illinois. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, with a major in Biology and minors in Biochemistry and African Studies. While in college, Dr. O'Reilly traveled with a veterinary service team to Nicaragua which solidified her decision to pursue veterinary medicine. She was also invited into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Dr. O'Reilly obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
After working in clinics in the Chicagoland area, Dr. O'Reilly joined VCA Blum Animal Hospital in 2018. She is a member of the AVMA, ISVMA, and CVMA. She is also a Fear Free Certified Veterinarian. Her interests include dermatology and internal medicine.
Dr. O'Reilly and her husband, Drew, have two fur children: a loyal dapple Dachshund named Tulip and Basil Hayden, a mischievous calico cat. In her free time, Dr. O'Reilly enjoys long runs through Chicago's neighborhoods, connecting with friends at local eateries, and gardening with her family.
