Melissa joined the Burrstone Animal Hospital team as a client service representative in 2012, became the CSR supervisor in 2018, and in 2022 settled into her role as the hospital manager. She is extremely passionate about making Burrstone and the team the very best they can be for their patients and feels privileged every day to be allowed to help others care for their pets. Growing up, Melissa helped her mother breed, raise, and show many generations of international champion Yorkshire terriers. Later, she experienced great joy as a professional groomer, even operating her own salon for many years until she had to close that chapter of her life for medical reasons. When she is not with her Burrstone family, she shares her life with her amazing husband Michael, her two beautiful daughters, Rachel (and her husband Eric) and Danielle, and her two wonderful grandsons, Wyatt and Morgan. On her personal farm she has four pets, Doppler (a crazy chocolate Lab), Melvin (a rescued Russian Blue), the "mini black panther" Bagheera (aka Supercat), and Princess Fiona "the baby of the pack" ( a Lynx Point Siamese mix). She also calls herself mom to two snakes, Casper (a male Pastel, Ghost, Enchi Ball Python) and his girlfriend Wendy (a female Super Fire Ball Python)
