Heather grew up in Mercer County and graduated from Cook College at Rutgers University in 1996 with a BS in Animal Science/Laboratory Animal Science.
Over the last 30 years, Heather has worked in a variety of fields with animals. Early in her career she worked in a number of local small animal and equine practices as a full time veterinary technician, worked for 7 years at Fort Doge Animal Health and Schering Plough as a pharmaceutical research assistant focusing on both human and animal health and managed a large equine facility for a for a good portion of her career training both horses and riders.
She returned to veterinary medicine in 2008 and joined VCA County Veterinary Hospital in 2018. At County, Heather divides her time between work as the hospital manager and that of a veterinary technician. As a technician, her primary interests are internal medicine, prevention medicine and client education. In 2023, Heather passed her NVTE and received her Certified Veterinary Technician title, as well RECOVER CPR Rescuer Certification. Heather reports that joining County felt like she was joining a family that values the close doctor-client relationship in a supportive and caring environment.
When not in the hospital, Heather and her husband Artie spend their time on their Hunterdon County farm which is home to a couple of beef cows, a few cats and 2 beloved labs, Riley and Maverick. She also enjoys traveling to warm oceanside spots, paddle boarding and snorkeling.
