Dr. Covarrubias is a native West Texan. Her love for animals was fostered at a young age due to her rural upbringing. She graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX, in 2015 with a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science. While pursuing a Master of Science Nutrition, she was admitted into veterinary school. She graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and began working at VCA Deer Creek Animal Hospital upon graduation.
Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and providing a fear-free environment for her patients. Everyday, she enjoys learning from her veterinary mentors and technicians.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Covarrubias spends her time reading, taking her dogs on walks, and hosting weekly movie nights for her friends. Her family includes a wonderful husband, Golden Retriever named Finn, Chihuahua named Ellie, Calico cat named Bella and her dilute tortoiseshell cat Armstrong.
