Hello! My name is Dr. Kiersten Vala and I am the newest full-time addition to the VCA Farmington Hills doctor team. I graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022, after going to The Ohio State University for my undergraduate studies. I have a special interest in Small Animal Nutrition though I am enjoying everything I see day-to-day in general practice. In the near future, I'd like to offer nutrition consultations and provide specialized diets for managing complicated medical conditions. My favorite part about working at VCA is the variety of pets I get to see; from the 1-pound puppy to the 140-pound Saint Bernard, and everything in between. 

I grew up in Plymouth, Michigan, and now live in Farmington Hills with my fiancée and our two pets: Lloyd, our Italian Greyhound, and Penelope, our calico cat. In our free time, we love taking Lloyd on walks and to breweries. We also like to watch a lot of movies—cuddled up with pets on the couch is best!
