Veterinary Assistant Amanda joined the VCA Knapp’s Corner team in September 2024.
A lifelong animal lover, her passion for veterinary medicine started with a job just out of college working in an animal emergency center as a receptionist. Eventually, Amanda worked her way up to veterinary assistant. After moving to a general veterinary day practice, she realized she loved being in veterinary medicine and joined the VCA Knapp’s Corner team!
Amanda joined our team because she enjoys working with like-minded teammates who are committed to improving the future of veterinary medicine! Amanda is excited to continue to expand her knowledge and skills, especially with low-stress handling, imaging practices, and anesthesia.
When she is not at the hospital, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason; their beagle mix, Reba; and their two cats, Hank and Bruce! Reba loves exploring and being outside with her humans, so they are often out and about in the city or exploring further outside Grand Rapids. Amanda can often be found working with Reba on her scent work, obedience, and parkour skills to help boost Reba’s confidence in new environments.
