Client Service Representative Brit joined the VCA Knapp's Corner team at the beginning of August 2024.
For the past 15 years, she has been working in veterinary behavior, with experience in both the exotic animal and pet industries. After graduating with a B.S. in animal sciences, Brit started working at the Georgia Aquarium with sea otters, then the Shedd Aquarium with the beluga whales and sea lions. Now she is back home in Grand Rapids, where she has been working with family pet dogs, as well as training Service Animals for people with disabilities, group classes, and therapy dogs. Brit has helped to establish training programs at several different local establishments and now has her own training business.
Brit joined the VCA family when she found out about the new Knapp's Corner location because she couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with an amazing team of veterinary professionals. The opportunities to learn and grow within VCA are endless, and every day Brit is excited to be a part of a team that shares the same goals, energy, and excitement to provide world class medicine.
When she is not at the hospital, Brit can be found at home with her crew: Saylor (3-year-old Golden Retriever), Ember (6-year-old Chocolate Labrador), and Denali (11-year-old Husky)—who is KING of the house. Brit enjoys reading (audiobooks count!), trying different hobbies (currently embroidery), starting—but not completing—home renovation projects, and helping other people learn how to train their dogs. Brit is a proud member of Ravenclaw House, and can sing (perform, let's be honest) the entire WICKED soundtrack upon request!
