Mary Arpaia
Area Medical Director DVM

Dr. Mary Arpaia received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the combined veterinary program through Oregon State University and Washington State University in 2003. She graduated summa cum laude and was honored with the American Animal Hospital Association Senior Student Award and the Small Animal Practitioner Award. Dr. Arpaia joined McKenzie Animal Hospital shortly after graduation in 2003. She focuses her practice to dogs, cats and small mammals. Her clinical interests beyond general practice are dentistry, preventative care and feline medicine and surgery.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and American Association of Feline Practitioners. In 2010 Dr. Arpaia completed certification in veterinary stem cell therapy. She has additional training in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation. In 2012, Dr. Arpaia was instrumental in completing the hospital certification process for the Cat Friendly Practice Gold level status. She continues to be the Cat Advocate for McKenzie Animal Hospital and provides education to clients and staff on the unique needs of our feline friends.

Outside of the practice she enjoys cooking with fresh produce from her husband’s garden, reading, hiking and spending time with her daughter, husband and pets.
