Increased demand has occurred at local primary veterinary practices, many of which are experiencing long waits and limited appointment availability. In turn, this increases the caseload at emergency/referral hospitals like ours. Like in human medicine, non-critical/non-life-threatening cases will have an extensive wait time based on the volume of critical patients in the ER and ICU.

Chiropractic Care

Dr. Kevin McCarthy graduated from the New York Chiropractic School in 2008 and opened Hands in Health, his chiropractic clinic for human patients with his wife and human chiropractor Kelly in 2012. Kevin pursued intensive study in the field of veterinary chiropractic therapy and received his board certification from the AVCA (American Veterinary Chiropractic Association). Dr. Kevin practices veterinary chiropractic therapy at VCA Metzger Animal Hospital and works with rehabilitation therapists Bob Rider, DVM, CCRT, and Anne Risaliti, PT, CCRT, plus rehabilitation assistant Meredith White, MA, CCRA, to help relieve pain in pets and improve mobility.

Veterinary chiropractic therapy is utilized for animal who suffer from skeletal or muscular pain. We help animals recovery from injury using holistic approaches such as applied kinesiology, whole food nutrition, and essential oils.

Many animals suffer from the same types of aches and pains as people. They can get injuries from jumping, falling, or playing too hard. Dogs, cats, and horses often respond very well to chiropractic treatments. Chiropractic care can help get your pet out of pain and improve their health in a variety of ways. Dr. Kevin McCarthy is the only animal chiropractor in the state of Pennsylvania to also be certified in applied kinesiology. His non-invasive techniques can relieve pain and improve function, digestion, and hormonal disturbances. Please contact our office if you would like to learn more about how animal chiropractic can help your pets!
