Dr Sandra Mendez received her veterinary degree from University UMSNH in Morelia, Mexico. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Chicago where she worked as a veterinary technician, later enrolling in ECVFG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates). She passed all her veterinary licensing board exams and completed her veterinary clinical year at Iowa State University in 2001.

Dr Mendez has been an Associate Veterinarian at VCA Mont Clare Animal Hospital since 2006.

She is married, has one son and two dogs, Max and Bobi.
