Hi my name is Mara! I was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico (UFO capital of the world)! I moved to Albuquerque, NM, after high school in 2012 and attended both UNM and CNM. I received my Associate's in Veterinary Technology from CNM in 2017 after a long, grueling program. I took my VTNE and obtained my certification shortly after, so I have been a Certified Veterinary Technician going on 5 years now! I have been with VCA for just over 3 years.

I am an animal advocate and have also participated in a few rescue/foster programs in Albuquerque, which is how I obtained most of my pets (foster fails). I have 1 amazing dog named Emma, 2 cats named Slash (AKA Scarface) and Jesse (named after Breaking Bad's Jesse Pinkman, who has a similar personality), and I also have a leopard gecko named Motley II.

I enjoy the outdoors, which is one big reason why I found myself moving to Phoenix at the end of 2021! There are so many wonderful trails, lakes, and outdoor activities for me, my boyfriend, and my 4-legged best friend to enjoy! I can't wait to see what "The Valley" has in store!
