Dr. Carrie Harkins was born and raised in Baldwinsville, NY.  She graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2009 with a BS in Environmental Science.  She worked for several years as a veterinary assistant at Beaver Lake Animal Hospital before attending veterinary school at Cornell University where she had a special interest in zoo and wildlife medicine.  She also participated in a dual degree program through the University of Minnesota where she is currently working towards a Masters of Public Health. After graduation she worked at a small animal general practice in Syracuse, NY for two years.  She joined the VCA New Hartford Animal Hospital team in the fall of 2018 and is currently living in her husband’s hometown of Clinton, NY with their two dogs and tortoise.
