Born and raised in Oregon, Ryan completed his undergraduate in Denver, CO before returning to Portland in 2006. He married his best friend, Angela shortly thereafter and they have been raising their three kids ever since! Ryan joined VCA in 2026 after completing a 20-year career with Starbucks. He began as a barista and led for 14 years as a district manager, where he focused on building teams and serving communities across the Portland metro area. Ryan spent his career creating pathways for people to grow, building operational excellence and generating growth through strong relationships with his team and customers. In addition, he served as a regional operations coach leading business strategy and operational excellence through executive coaching and consultation across the Pacific Northwest. Ryan is thrilled to join the mission at VCA, to nurture a cohesive and collaborative team environment, deliver high quality care for pets and their owners and to make a lasting impact on our team and community. Outside of work, he loves spending time outdoors hiking, fishing and visiting National Parks with his family. He enjoys coaching and cheering on his kids, spending time in his garden, and getting out for adventures.
