Dr. Debra Liu is a Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. She obtained the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, and continued her training by completing a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Liu then practiced emergency medicine at the prestigious Dove Lewis Emergency and Critical Care Animal Hospital in Portland, Oregon and at a progressive general practice in Orange County for several years prior to her pursuing specialization. Dr. Liu completed a Residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania and obtained board certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2012.
Dr. Liu has authored multiple manuscripts and textbook chapters on acute respiratory distress syndrome, fluid therapy, nutrition in septic peritonitis, feline spontaneous pneumothorax, and toxicities. She is skilled in hemodynamic stabilization and mechanical ventilation for the sickest animals. Sepsis, polytrauma, respiratory failure, and electrolyte and acid-base disorders are her clinical expertise.
