VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists traces its proud history back to 1994, when Dr. Roy—a visionary surgeon and compassionate caregiver—founded his own mobile surgical practice dedicated to bringing advanced surgical care directly to patients in need. His dedication to excellence and his belief that pets deserve the same caliber of medical care as humans quickly earned him the respect and trust of the veterinary community.
As demand for specialized veterinary services grew, Dr. Roy recognized the need for a central location where pets could receive comprehensive, collaborative care from a team of experts. In 1998, he opened Palm Beach County’s first specialty referral center—Palm Beach Veterinary Referral & Critical Care Center. The practice’s reputation for excellence spread rapidly, leading to a name change that reflected its growing breadth of services and expertise: Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists.
In 2010, the hospital moved into its current, award-winning facility, a state-of-the-art space designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and compassionate care. Today, this institution remains the largest specialty and emergency veterinary hospital of its kind in the state of Florida, and Dr. Roy continues to serve as a surgeon and mentor, guiding the next generation of veterinary professionals.
