When Becky was 16 years old and sitting around bored on summer break, her mother sent her down to the local dog shelter to volunteer. To Becky's surprise, she was hooked immediately! She knew she wanted to pursue a career that would allow her to care for pets and build lasting relationships with their owners.
Dr. Stever grew up in Rochester, Minnesota with her parents, younger sister, and a menagerie of pets. After high school, she moved to Tempe, Arizona to complete her undergraduate studies in biology, working as a veterinary assistant at the same time. Following graduation, she and her husband, Paul, moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where Becky started veterinary school at Colorado State University. Although they loved the culture and climate of Colorado, Becky and Paul moved back to Minnesota after she graduated to be closer to family.
Dr. Stever came to PineRidge in June of 2014. She says that internal medicine cases are her favorite medical problems to solve, because she loves a good mystery. She also enjoys pain management and helping a pet benefit from a wide range of options.
Becky and Paul live with their daughter and three indoor cats, Kevyn, Ghost and Chobani. When she isn't working or spending time with her family, Dr. Stever likes reading, baking, cross-stitch, swimming, and volunteering at local food banks.
