Caring for pets means meeting a wide range of needs beyond health care. Fortunately, there’s a whole community of organizations and businesses eager to help.
Here’s where to meet the local groups that we recommend to our pet-loving families.
Duxbury Animal Control and Shelter offer invaluable rescue and adoption services to Duxbury residents. Eddy Ramos-Duxbury's Animal Control Officer-is committed to providing the best care and treatment of the pets in the shelter while they wait to be found or adopted! VCA Roberts is proud to help!
Pookie's Pals is based in Norwell and provides valuable feral cat services in our area. We at Roberts help treat many of the organizations cats while they are waiting to be adopted, and we also provide spay/neuter and vaccination services for their feral cat program.
Quincy Animal Shelter is a 100% volunteer run non-profit organization dedicated to caring for and finding homes for hundreds of pets each year. All pets receive appropriate vaccinations and are spayed or neutered before adoption.
South Shore Humane Society is a non-profit volunteer-run organization, established to help place local animals that need homes. They do not have a shelter, but have several foster homes for animals that need assistance. Their primary focus is on spay/neuter assistance.
Standish is a no-kill cat shelter and adoption center that provides a reduced-cost spay/neuter program. This program allows owners that cannot afford regular vet costs to get their pets spayed or neutered at reduced pricing through their organization.
"The Sterling Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization and no-kill animal shelter with no time or age restrictions. The shelter exists to provide humane sheltering and high quality medical care for stray, unwanted, abused and neglected animals and to find loving, lifelong homes for orphaned pets"
The mission of CAPC is to foster animal and human health, while preserving the human-animal bond, through recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control of parasitic infections.
The Last Resort here in Hanover is a kitty shelter that is involved with surrender and adoption of many wonderful felines in our community! Our good friend Joan Norris leads the organization and we assist in the treatment of the shelter cats while they are in her care!
Pet care you can count on - because VCA delivers.
