Maren Stauber
Associate Veterinarian DVM

Dr. Maren Stauber grew up in Los Altos, California raising rabbits, training Guide dog puppies, and helping her father with his assortment of birds (cockatiels, cockatoos, parrots, doves, etc.) She was very interested in the natural world around her and was quite knowledgeable about the surrounding wildlife. She studied at the University of California, Davis during her undergraduate work, majoring in Environmental Biology and Management. After Davis, she worked on the big island of Hawaii studying the Palila and then went to New Mexico where she studied Spotted Owls.

At some point while she was working in New Mexico, she decided she wanted to be a veterinarian. She then went to Humbolt State, where she took some wonderful classes to qualify for entry to veterinary school. To gain some experience in the field, she worked in a small animal hospital. She was accepted to the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where she concentrated in small animal medicine.

After veterinary school, she went to San Diego for a couple of years and then moved back to the Bay Area. She currently lives on the coast adjacent to POST land and loves it. Her and her husband have two girls, ages 3 and 1.5 years old, as well as one dog, two cats, two California Desert tortoises and some fish.
