Dr. Bernier brings not only over two decades of veterinary experience, but also an incredible life story and a deep passion for caring for animals. Born in Heidelberg, Germany, and raised in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, her journey to veterinary medicine has been anything but ordinary. She first studied music at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh before serving as an Arabic translator for the U.S. Army during the Persian Gulf War. Following her military service, she returned to UW–Oshkosh to complete her bachelor's degree.
Her lifelong love of animals eventually led her to work on several large dairy farms, where she gained valuable hands-on experience and further strengthened her desire to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. Bernier went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2004 and has been dedicated to helping pets live healthier, happier lives ever since.
Dr. Bernier's professional interests include feline medicine and behavior, soft tissue surgery, and building strong relationships with clients through compassionate, personalized care. She believes that every pet deserves exceptional medical care and every owner deserves a trusted partner in their pet's health journey.
When she's not caring for patients, Dr. Bernier enjoys listening to classical music, reading, working on jigsaw puzzles, and cheering on her favorite Wisconsin teams—the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. At home, she is kept company by her two beloved cats, Savannah and Sarah.
