Dr. Jorge Eduardo Mendoza had an exciting childhood, growing up in Mexico City and moving to Garden City, Kansas at the age of 11 years old. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Kansas State University and completed a postbaccalaureate in Microbiology at the University of Rochester in New York. He then received a Master's in Wildlife at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working with two-toed and three-toed sloths. Before starting veterinary school, he spent time working in education at The Ohio State University. He completed his DVM degree from The Ohio State University in 2022 and joined the VCA team after graduation. He volunteers in local non-profit organizations, spaying and neutering dogs and cats while mentoring veterinary students. Dr. Mendoza has a special interest in surgery, animal behavior, and preventative medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys the company of his wife Sharon, his human son (Jordi) and his two other kids (dogs – Mambo and Finley). He also enjoys grilling, making pizza, hiking, and paddleboarding.
