Benefits
Revolution® is a systemically acting, broad-spectrum parasiticide that has a well defined safety profile combined with excellent efficacy to help protect your dog against a wide variety of parasites. Revolution® enters the bloodstream through the skin. Concentrations of Revolution® in the blood and tissues prevent heartworm. Revolution® selectively redistributes from the blood to the skin and other tissues, where it provides protection against fleas, flea eggs, and ear mites.
Revolution® kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching and is indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations, prevention of heartworm disease, treats and controls ear mites, treats and controls sarcoptic mange, and controls infestations of the American dog tick or Wood tick. Revolution® is a once-monthly topical treatment that is applied to the pet’s skin.

Side Effects

Rare side effects include vomiting, loose stools or diarrhea with or without blood, loss of appetite, drowsiness, salivation, rapid breathing and muscle tremors. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Dogs

Revolution® should be applied topically as directed by your veterinarian.


Cautions

Do not use in sick, weak or underweight animals. The pet should be tested for heartworm disease before starting this medication. Wash hands with soap and water after handling the medication. Store this medicine below 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Store away from heat and direct sunlight.


Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.


Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
