Dr. Westworth received a BVSc with Honors (DVM) in 1995 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He completed a surgical internship in Sydney, Australia in 2002. In 2006 he completed a Neurology/Neurosurgery residency at the University of California, Davis. That same year, he became board certified in veterinary neurology (Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine), and joined the VCA Animal Care Center of Sonoma County. Dr. Westworth has published in international veterinary journals on subjects including choroid plexus brain tumors and spinal congenital anomalies.

He also now leads the Sustainability "Green" Team at ACC and is on the board of directors at the not-for-profit Veterinary Sustainability Alliance. He is highlighting methods to practice veterinary medicine more sustainably.
