Microchipping

Will your pet be lost? Or found… Microchip your pet!

It’s a lost pet’s best chance to return home. A microchip implant is quick and gives your pet a lifetime ID.

Microchip your pet if:

  • Your pet flees from fireworks
  • You take your pet far from home – outdoors or on vacations
  • Your pet is an escape artist from the backyard
  • Your pet is young – a puppy or kitty

A pet lost or on the run can lose its collar and tags. When Animal Control, Shelters and Vets pass a microchip scanner over an animal, the microchip transmits its unique ID number. That number is called into the pet recovery service, and you will be contacted through your information on file.

Since there’s no battery and no moving parts, there’s nothing to keep charged, wear out, or replace. The microchip will last your pet’s lifetime. Keep your pet safe, schedule an appointment for microchipping

The procedure is simple and similar to administering a vaccine or a routine shot. Microchipping at VCA Tiara Rado Animal Hospital is a 30 minute visit and includes registration for one year at HomeAgain national pet recovery database.

Remember to keep your contact information up to date at the pet registry whenever you move or change phone numbers.
