Christopher Coverdill

Medical Director

DVM

Dr. Chris Coverdill was born in Detroit, Michigan, but has lived in five different states at various times of his life (Arizona is his favorite). He obtained his bachelor's degree at Western Oregon University and worked in biomedical research for several years studying Diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. He started his career in veterinary medicine as a technician in 2004 and then entered veterinary school at the University of Florida in 2011. After graduation, he moved to Tucson in 2015 to do an internship with VCA Valley Animal Hospital and has been here ever since. His professional interests include reptile medicine, surgery, and emergency/critical care. He is married to Michelle, who is also a small animal veterinarian here in Tucson.

Dr. Coverdill provides care for a wide variety of species, including cats, dogs and exotics such as small mammals, birds, and reptiles. He does, however, avoid seeing rats due to an allergy.

In his free time he enjoys hiking, birding, herping, photography, playing guitar, reading, and travel. He has a pet family that includes two goofy pit bulls named Thorin and Cambria, a cat (Anconeus), leopard tortoise and 22 boa constrictors!
