Janice Lem-White
DVM Medical Director

Dr. Janice Lem is a bay area local, having been born and raised in Mountain View. She obtained her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Bioresource Sciences with Animal Emphasis from the University of California at Berkeley. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her senior year of clinics at the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine at Urbana-Champaign. She attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine for her clinical year of rotation. Dr. Lem has worked at several veterinary hospitals on Oahu, Hawaii and in the bay area, training with Board Certified Surgeons and Internal Medicine veterinarians in the areas of oncology, reproduction, and ultrasound.

Dr. Lem joined VCA in October 2000, working first at VCA Kanoehe Animal Hospital on Oahu and then here at VCA Vets and Pets Animal Hospital. 

Laressa Dimalanta
RVT, RLATG Hospital Manager
Laressa grew up on the Pacific islands of Guam and Hawaii caring for the injured animals she would find with her Gramma. She graduated in 1997 from Parkland College in Illinois, with an A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology, and then moved to the Bay Area. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician, Registered Laboratory Animal Technologist, and Technical Writer, having a combined 20+ years of experience in small animal general practice, biomedical research, and education. She has been representing RVTs on the California Veterinary Medical Association board since 1999 by being an advocate for the veterinary technology profession and making recommendations for veterinary medical legislative issues. She served several terms with CVMA as the Research, Education, and currently, as the District IX (San Mateo, San Francisco, and Santa Clara counties) RVT state representative. She also serves as a Program Advisory Committee board member at Carrington College for the Veterinary Technology program, and California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps member. Her three rambunctious children, cats - Mittens and Stormi, birds - Coconut, Mango, and Skittles, and betta fish - Ragnarok and Anora, round out her loving family. She enjoys reading, writing, and cultural appreciation. She is an advocate for the welfare of animals, and promotes lifelong education and mentoring for all veterinary staff members.

Whether it's answering your calls, guiding you and your pet to the exam rooms or checking you in and out quickly, our Client Service representatives and Receptionists are dedicated to providing helpful client and patient support that raises the bar on customer service.
