Dr. LaPaglia is a Virginia native. He moved to New Jersey after graduating from the University Of Glasgow School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. He has a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and a master’s degree from Drexel University, He earned his certification in veterinary acupuncture from Chi University.
He joined Allenwood Animal Hospital in 2014. He was drawn to their collaborative team focused approach to patient care. Over the years he has enjoyed working with a group of like-minded people driven by the same mission to help, heal, and care for all the animals that walk through Allenwood’s doors.
His professional interest include palliative medicine/end-of-life care, exotic animal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. He has the greatest passion for holistic modalities of healing including acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. This passion is propelling him into the future with goals of achieving certifications in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Chinese Food Therapy, veterinary spinal manipulation (chiropractic medicine), and balanced-method acupuncture.
He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, the America Association of Veterinary Acupuncturist, Bowman’s Hill Wild Flower Preserve, the International Carnivorous Plant Society, and the New Jersey Native Plant Society.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his partner and their three dogs, native plant gardening, protecting native biodiversity through activism, eating healthfully and avoiding ultra-processed foods, practicing yoga, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
