Michelle Coverdill

Staff Veterinarian

DVM

Dr. Michelle Coverdill is a Florida native who made her way out west in 2016. She was born in Orlando and earned her bachelor's degree at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then went on to receive her master's and veterinary degrees from the University of Florida.

She started practicing in a busy three-doctor small animal hospital for two years in Gainesville and then moved out to Tucson to join her husband. She then worked for almost seven years at a small animal and exotics practice before doing relief work both locally and in Phoenix. After spending many months working relief with the team at VCA Animal Health Hospital, she found her tribe and is happy to now officially be part of the family.

Dr. Coverdill has always had a passion for animals, including working as a technician for almost 10 years before attending veterinary school. She is especially passionate about ensuring the best possible experience for her patients. She understands that visiting the veterinarian can be overwhelming for our pets. Her special interests include internal medicine, behavior, wellness and preventive care, client education, and end-of-life care.

In her spare time, Dr. Coverdill loves spending her time with family and friends; her husband, Chris; their dogs, Thorin and Cambria (Cami); and their cat, Anconeus. She loves traveling, hiking, birding, and photography. When she is stuck inside, you can usually find her reading or listening to an audiobook, painting with watercolors, or in the kitchen making something yummy to share with friends and family.
