Dr. Mickila Collins received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 after completing her clinical year at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. After graduating, she completed a one-year rotating internship and a one-year Internal Medicine internship at Animal Specialty Group.
Dr Collins left Animal Specialty Group to complete a three-year Internal Medicine residency program at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) in Houston, Texas. While there, she trained extensively in minimally invasive procedures including endoscopy, bronchoscopy and cystoscopy. As of 2012, she became a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Today, her main areas of interest include gastroenterology, endocrinology and managing geriatric patients with multiple chronic diseases. Dr. Collins enjoys collaborating with her clients to preserve the quality of life for her patients.
