Dr. Dana Sengewald is originally from the Chicago suburbs. She attended the University of Illinois, receiving her bachelor's degree in animal sciences. She continued at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2015. Dr. Sengewald then completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a one-year Neurology specialty internship at VCA Animal Specialty Group. Leaving the Los Angeles area to go to Florida, she completed her three-year residency in Neurology at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists. After completing her residency, Dr. Sengewald returned to the Southern California weather and the staff at VCA Animal Specialty Group in 2020 as a staff neurologist.
Clinically, Dr. Sengewald enjoys all aspects of neurology but has a special interest in spinal surgery, seizure management, and establishing relationships with patients and clients.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sengewald enjoys running, hiking, and exploring the Southern California region.
