Dr. Melissa Thiede graduated from Colorado State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Originally from a small lake town in Minnesota, she greatly enjoyed her time in Tampa, Florida, while earning her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences at the University of South Florida. Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Mel fell in love with the Denver area and worked as a veterinary technician as well as a wrangler in the Colorado mountains.
Dr. Mel is passionate about developing close, lasting relationships with both her patients and their families. She especially enjoys feline medicine and loves the unique challenge of understanding and caring for cats. During veterinary school, Dr. Mel volunteered with a mobile veterinary clinic in the Bahamas, providing spay/neuter surgeries and general veterinary care to local pets. This experience further strengthened her love for surgery, preventive care, and making veterinary medicine more accessible.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Mel absolutely loves traveling and exploring new places and cultures. She is also a big fan of concerts and live music. On her days off, she enjoys horror movie nights at home with her partner and their cat, Kangaroo (Roo), spending time hiking outside of Denver, and socializing with friends.
