Dr. Coppage's love for animals started early, inspired by National Geographic encyclopedias and childhood trips to family farms. Growing up in a rural town in southeastern Iowa, he spent his youth working alongside local farmers and veterinarians before earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2025. After spending the past year practicing veterinary medicine in northern Idaho, Dr. Coppage and his wife, Dr. Sarah Coppage (also a veterinarian!), have moved back to the area for her residency in Clinical Pathology at Iowa State University.
Dr. Coppage brings a wealth of passion to our team, with special interests in: preventative medicine, surgery and dental hygiene and prophylaxis Outside of the clinic, you might find Dr. Coppage at the gym, spending time with friends, or exploring the outdoors with his wife and their golden retriever, Gary. He is also a proud pet parent to a tuxedo cat named Socks—endearingly known as a "carb fiend" and "escape artist!" Dr. Coppage has also used his veterinary skills to give back globally, traveling overseas to support ministries, schools, and local veterinary communities in Africa.
"One of my favorite parts of being a veterinarian is getting to know the community through caring for their pets," says Dr. Coppage. "Each pet and person has their own unique story and experiences that I get to be a part of."
