Dr. Scherer grew up in the neighboring area of Allison Park. She attended Allegheny College where she studied Biology and Psychology. Dr. Scherer completed her veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania along with a business certification from the Veterinary Business Management Association. Following graduation, she worked at a busy veterinary clinic where she split her time between emergency and general practice. Dr. Scherer is looking forward to returning to Bakerstown where she originally shadowed as a high school student. 

Her veterinary interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery and dentistry. One of the most rewarding aspects of veterinary medicine, to her, is witnessing and protecting the unique human-animal bond. In her free time, Dr. Scherer enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She and her husband share a home with their 3 dogs and cat.
