Kenneth Leal, Medical Director


Blairstown Animal Hospital's medical director is a long-time resident of the Blairstown area. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in the College Scholars Program with an emphasis in Biology and Zoology. After graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, he joined the practice as an associate vet and later became partner, then full owner. Blairstown Animal Hospital has progressed to be a member hospital of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the Veterinary Centers of America family with continued emphasis on excellence in medicine and surgery. Dr. Leal resides in Blairstown with his wife and numerous pets. Their four children are grown, and he is extremely proud of each of them for their continued accomplishments.  He is past president and current member of the Metropolitan New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association as well as the American Association of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society, the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. He has lectured at various veterinary hospitals on the topics of sedation/anesthesia and pain relief, as well as drugs for skin disease. He is an instructor for an Imaging company that teaches veterinarians how to use ultrasound. Dr. Leal enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has special interests in anesthesia/sedation pain relief as well as surgery, ultrasound and endoscopy.
