Deb attended Becker Jr. College and shortly thereafter started her first veterinary assistant job in March 1980 at Brown Animal Hospital. She had the honor of working under the ownership of Dr. Harold Brown, a very well known and respected veterinarian in the state of VT. She was fortunate to have incredible training in all aspects of the animal hospital due to Dr. Brown personally training all new employees. Starting with two weeks at the front desk, then moving on to exams, lab, surgery and of course kennel. For 12 years, Deb had the privilege of being the primary assistant for a surgeon, Dr. Kurt Kenney. Her responsibilities included everything from working with referral hospitals and clients, to assisting with exams, surgery prep, surgery, and patient aftercare. She considers herself very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with an incredible team from the time it was Brown Animal Hospital to the present VCA Brown Animal Hospital.
Deb and her husband, Dave have two wonderful daughters, Jennifer and Erin, who have been brought up on their small horse farm in Williston. Spending time with horses has been a big part of their family life, often spending weekends traveling to the next hunter/jumper show. Also part of their family is an adorable French bulldog named Thelma.
